HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team will compete in the Southland Conference Championships, while the baseball and softball teams will continue conference play and former SLU quarterback Cole Kelley waits to hear his name called at the NFL Draft during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The Lions will be in McKinney, Texas for the Southland Men's Golf Tournament. The tournament runs Monday through Wednesday with the winner earning an automatic berth in the NCAA Championships.
 
The SLU baseball team (17-23, 7-8 SLC) will close out its nonconference home schedule Tuesday, hosting Southern Miss at 6 p.m. at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Tuesday's game is a Cane's Challenge. If Southeastern scores four runs or more, fans can take their game ticket or student coupon to their local Raising Cane's to receive a free combo with the purchase of another of equal or greater value.
 
Following Tuesday's contest, the Lions will hit the road for a three-game Southland Conference series at Northwestern State. The series opens with a 6:30 p.m. contest Friday, continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
The Southeastern softball team (33-12, 10-2 SLC) carries a seven-game win streak and a share of the conference lead into this week's action. The Lady Lions will travel to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a three-game conference series, which opens with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Friday. Saturday's finale is set for noon.
 
Former SLU quarterback Cole Kelley is the latest NFL Draft hopeful for Southeastern. The draft opens with the first round Thursday at 7 p.m. Rounds two and three will start Friday at 6 p.m. with the final four rounds starting Saturday at 11 a.m. The draft can be seen on ABC, ESPN and the NFL Network.

The 2022 season of Inside Southeastern Baseball with Matt Riser continues Monday at 12 p.m. from the patio of Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden. Riser will join co-host Allen Waddell at lunchtime every Monday during the season for the 60-minute show, talking the latest in Southeastern baseball. Pour House is located at 505 W.
