HOUSTON, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision Saturday to host Houston Baptist in the Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championships at Third Coast Volleyball Club.
 
No. 4-seeded Southeastern (12-21) was eliminated from the tournament, ending its season. No. 2-seeded HBU (13-21) advances to face No. 3-seeded New Orleans, battling for the final berth in Sunday's championship dual.
 
Southeastern lost in straight sets in the second, third and fifth flights, finalizing the dual before the completion of the first and fourth flights.
 
The Beach Lions' No. 1 duo of Jolie Hidalgo and Meagan Scuderi (21-11) won the first set of their match, 21-15.
 
Despite falling in the fifth flight, Mabry Ward and Eryn Wilks finished the season with a 19-8 record as a pair.
 
In its second full season, the Southeastern beach program showed a nine-win improvement over the 2021 season.
