HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University softball team will host its final nonconference home game of the season Tuesday, welcoming in-state foe UL Lafayette to North Oak Park for a 6 p.m. contest.
Southeastern Athletics will host the "Flood the Field" promotion in conjunction with Tuesday's game. The first 150 SLU students in attendance will receive free t-shirts and food.
The game between the Lady Lions (26-12) and the visiting Ragin' Cajuns (26-10) will be televised on ESPN+. Live stats will be accessible at LionSports.net/sidearmstats/softball.
Southeastern enters Tuesday's midweek contest with a .320 team batting average.
Cam Goodman leads the team and ranks 14
th in Division I with a .453 batting average, followed by
Aeriyl Mass (.381),
Madison Rayner (.349),
Bailey Krolczyk (.333) and
Maddie Watson (.314).
Rayner has scored a team-high 26 runs, while Mass,
Lindsey Rizzo and
Lexi Johnson have 24 runs apiece. Mass and Goodman occupy the top two spots on the Southland stolen base leaderboard with 23 and 21 steals, respectively.
Rayner also leads the conference with 34 RBI and is seventh nationally with a league-high 14 doubles. Johnson paces the squad with six doubles.

Mary-Cathryn (MC) Comeaux (8-3, 3.81 ERA, 1 save),
KK Ladner (3-2, 3.35 ERA, 1 save),
Alyssa Romano (0-2, 2.13 ERA, 1 save) and
Ellie DuBois (0-1, 3.44 ERA, 1 save) all have double-digit appearances in the circle for a SLU pitching staff that carries a 2.85 team earned run average into Tuesday's game.
Southeastern will be facing a UL Lafayette lineup that ranks second nationally with a .361 team batting average. Jourdyn Campbell leads the squad with a .406 batting average and 29 RBI. Campbell and Alexa Langeliers share team-high honors with seven home runs apiece.
UL Lafayette comes to Hammond with a 2.24 team ERA. Sam Landry (12-2, 1.99 ERA), Meghan Schorman (6-4, 2.35 ERA, 2 saves) and Kandra Lamb (7-4, 1.93 ERA) are the primary arms for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Following Tuesday's game, Southeastern will play its next four games on the road. The swing starts with a three-game Southland series this weekend at Nicholls. The series opens with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday and concludes Saturday at noon.
