HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball, softball, tennis, golf and beach volleyball teams will all be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The Southeastern baseball team (8-16, 0-3 Southland) will open the week with a 6 p.m. home contest versus UL Lafayette Tuesday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Tuesday features the "Pack the Pat" promotion and the first 300 students will receive a Hammond, America t-shirt.
 
The Lions then hit the road to open the road portion of their Southland Conference schedule with a three-game series at UIW. The set opens with a 6:30 p.m. contest Friday, continues Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
The SLU softball team (18-10) opens a seven-game home stand Tuesday, hosting Alcorn State for a 4 p.m. doubleheader. The Lady Lions then open conference play by welcoming UIW for a three-game series, which opens with a 4 p.m. Friday doubleheader and concludes Saturday at noon. Southeastern will celebrate Alumni Weekend this weekend at North Oak Park and all former Lady Lions are invited to come back for the series.
 
The Lion tennis team (2-13, 1-3 SLC) closes out a three-match home stand with a 4 p.m. contest versus Southern Wednesday at the Southeastern Tennis Complex. SLU then heads to McNeese for a 2 p.m. conference match Friday.
 
With three top-four finishes to its credit this spring, the Southeastern golf team will participate in its final tune-up before next month's Southland Conference Championships this week. The Lions will be in Houma, Louisiana to compete in the Ellendale Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday.
 
The SLU beach volleyball team (8-10) competes in the ULM Invitational this week. The Beach Lions take on New Orleans at 3 p.m. and Central Arkansas at 5 p.m. Friday. Southeastern closes tournament play Saturday with an 11 a.m. match versus Mary Hardin-Baylor and a 5 p.m. match at the host Warhawks.

The 2022 season of Inside Southeastern Baseball with Matt Riser continues Monday at 12 p.m. from the patio of Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden. Riser will join co-host Allen Waddell at lunchtime every Monday during the season for the 60-minute show, talking the latest in Southeastern baseball. Pour House is located at 505 W. Thomas St. in Hammond. The show will initially be heard online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive.
