SLU Set for Dual Meets This Weekend at North Carolina State, Mississippi State

Makuvire to Make Outdoor Season Debut at North Carolina State's Raleigh Relays

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University Track and Field team will compete in a pair of meets this weekend including the Al Schmidt Relays hosted by Mississippi State and the North Carolina State Raleigh Relays.

SLU's Bradley Makuvire, who was named Southland Conference Indoor Male Student-Athlete of the Year Wednesday, will be in action at the Raleigh Relays Friday at 10 a.m. The sophomore will make his outdoor season debut in the 10k in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Southeastern will have 22 student-athletes in action at the Al Schmidt relays in Starkville, Mississippi, including 12 men and 10 women.
Southeastern's Kristian Jackson, the reigning Southland Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week, will return to the field after breaking the school record in the shot put last Friday at the SLU Dual Meet.

Eugene Omalla, the Southland top-ranked 400m runner, will face this weekend as well. The Lions' newcomer was crowned Southland Male Track Athlete of the Week after running a blistering 46.04 last Friday.

SLU's Thomas Nedow, the Southland Indoor shot put champion, and Slavko Stevic, the conference's indoor high jump champion, will both compete this weekend as well.
Live results of both meets will be available at the Southeastern track and field schedule page at LionSports.Net. Heat sheets and meet schedules will be posted once available.
