HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team travels down the road to Kenner, Louisiana this weekend to compete in the UNO Invitational at Coconut Beach Volleyball Complex.
 
Southeastern (6-8) will face Nicholls (0-12) at 1 p.m. Thursday and Spring Hill (9-4) later that afternoon at 5 p.m. SLU wraps up the two-day event Friday with duals against North Florida (11-6) at 9 a.m. and host New Orleans (9-7) at 3 p.m. 
 
The Beach Lions have faced three of the four teams already this season and will face North Florida twice in Jacksonville, Florida next month. SLU fell to UNO, 4-1, the opening weekend of the season in Houston, Texas at the HBU Tournament.
 
SLU swept Nicholls, 5-0, the following weekend in Monroe, Louisiana at the ULM Bayou Bash. Spring Hill escaped Hammond with a pair of narrow, 3-2, wins over Southeastern at the inaugural Beach Bash, March 8.
 
The Beach Lions' top pairings this season are Jolie Hidalgo, a junior from Opelousas, Louisiana, and Megan Scuderi along with Mabry Ward, a junior from Argyle, Texas, and Eryn Wilks.
 
Hidalgo and Scuderi, a junior from Metairie, Louisiana, are 5-1 since moving to the No. 1 flight and 12-2 overall this season.
 
Ward, a transfer from Tusculum, and Wilks, a redshirt sophomore from Hammond, are undefeated (10-0) since pairing up against Texas A&M-Kingsville at home earlier this month.

SLU returns to the sand, April 1-2, in Monroe at the ULM Beach Invitational. Southeastern is slated to face UNO at 3 p.m. and Central Arkansas at 5 p.m. during first-day action. The Beach Lions will wrap up the two-day event against Mary Hardin-Baylor at 11 a.m. and host ULM at 5 p.m.
