Southeastern Closes Road Swing at ULM

Lady Lions, Warhawks meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Monroe

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University softball team will close out a nine-game road swing Wednesday with a 6 p.m. contest at ULM.
 
Live stats for the game between SLU (18-9) and the host Warhawks (16-8), provided by the hosts, will be accessible on the softball schedule page at www.LionSports.net. Southeastern has won four of its last five games heading into Wednesday's contest.
 
The Lady Lions have a Southland Conference-best .325 team batting average through 27 games. Reigning Southland Conference Hitter of the Week Cam Goodman leads the team and ranks second in the league with a .450 batting average. Goodman is joined on the conference leaderboard by Aeriyl Mass (.372, 5th), Madison Rayner (.372, 5th) and Bailey Krolczyk (.347, 10th).
 
Southeastern is fourth nationally with 2.56 stolen bases per game. Mass (19) and Goodman (16) occupy the top two spots on the Southland stolen base leaderboard. Mass is second in the league with 21 runs scored, while Goodman (19, 4th), Lindsey Rizzo (19, 4th) and Lexi Johnson (18, 7th) are all among the league's top run scorers.
 
Johnson is fourth in the Southland with five home runs and is one of three Lady Lions with multiple home runs, along with Maddie Watson (three) and Rayner (two). Rayner is also second in the league with her team-high totals of 24 RBI and 10 doubles, while Johnson is sixth in the league in both categories with six doubles and 20 RBI. Madisen Blackford joins Rayner and Johnson among the doubles leaders with seven (5th in the Southland).
 
Southeastern comes to Monroe with a 3.06 team earned run average – second-lowest in the Southland. Heather Zumo (10-3, 2.28 ERA) leads the league in victories, while KK Ladner (3-1, 3.69 ERA, 1 save) has yielded a Southland-low .203 batting average to opponents. MC Comeaux (5-3, 4.28 ERA, 1 save), Alyssa Romano (0-1, 1.68 ERA) and Ellie DuBois (0-1, 4.30 ERA, 1 save) are the other primary arms for the Lady Lions.
 
The SLU pitching staff will be facing a ULM lineup that has a .287 team batting average. Lourdes Bacon paces the roster with a .373 batting average and 19 runs scored. Kennedy Page and Gabby Davila have two home runs apiece to lead the Warhawks, while Madelyn Fletcher tops the roster with 16 RBI.
 
ULM has a 2.79 team earned run average heading into Wednesday's game. Victoria Abrams (5-1, 2.85 ERA), Kinsey Kackley (4-2, 2.02 ERA) and Gianni Hulett (1-2, 3.91 ERA, 2 saves) have handled the majority of the work in the circle for the Warhawks.
 
Following this week's contest, Southeastern will take the weekend off before returning home to host Alcorn State for a 4 p.m. doubleheader next Tuesday at North Oak Park.
