NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball split a pair of duals Sunday at the SFA Invitational II, defeating Abilene Christian, 4-1, before dropping a 4-1 decision to Central Arkansas.
 
Southeastern (6-8) went 4-1 in the event, its first winning record in a multi-team event this season.
 
The Beach Lions earned straight-set wins over Abilene Christian in the first, second, fourth and fifth flights. Linsey Sackett and Avery Caroll teamed up for a 21-15, 21-10 victory in the No 4 flight. Shortly after, Mabry Ward and Eryn Wilks extended their partner winning streak with a 21-16, 21-12 victory in the fifth flight.
 
Jolie Hidalgo and Meagan Scuderi continued their winning ways, picking a 21-10, 21-13 win in the No. 1 flight to clinch the team victory. Hannah Barosh and Michelle Mirarchi added to the score in the second flight with an easy 21-4, 21-12 win.
 
Ward and Eryn pushed their winning streak to 10 consecutive duals with a straight-set win against Central Arkansas, 22-20, 21-14. Unfortunately, it was the only point SLU earned in its final dual at the two-day event.
 
Hidalgo and Scuderi (12-2) are currently Southeastern's winningest duo, followed by Ward and Wilks (10-0).
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern makes a trip just down the road to New Orleans, Louisiana for the UNO Invitational. The Beach Lions are slated to match up Thursday with both Nicholls and Spring Hill before wrapping up action Friday with North Florida and host UNO.
