KERRVILLE, Texas – Fresh off a tournament victory at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational, the Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team will look to build momentum as it plays in the Big Texan Invitational beginning Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Comanche Trace Golf Course (7,059 yards – Par 72) in Kerrville, Texas hosted by UT Rio Grande Valley.
SLU won the CMI back on March 8 in convincing fashion, besting the rest of the field by 13 strokes. The Lions shot +4 as a team led by tournament champion
Michael Landry, shooting -6, while all five players finished in the top 20 for Southeastern.
Southeastern's lineup Monday will include Landry,
Logan Kuehn,
Cameron Mobley,
Charlie Forster and
Grayson Glorioso, the same five from the win two weeks ago at the CMI.
The Lions, entering Monday, have a team stroke average of 73.16 through two tournaments this spring. Southeastern also finished in fourth place in their first tournament of the spring at the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate on March 1.
The 13-team field at the Big Texan Invitational also includes, Seton Hall, UT Arlington, Northern Colorado, UIW, HBU, New Orleans, Lehigh, Stephen F. Austin, Texas Southern, Odessa College and Midland College.
Southeastern will play the first two rounds and 36 holes Monday with a shotgun start. The tournament concludes with the final round Tuesday morning.
