HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball program will host a Green and Gold intrasquad scrimmage at 2 p.m. Friday at the Southeastern Beach Volleyball Complex in North Oak Park.
 
Admission is free. Fans are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on the berm.
 
"You'll see some teams that are set, when it comes to pairs, and some that we're still feeling out," head coach Jeremy White said. "It's a chance to see what beach volleyball is really about at the college level. It will be just the third event we've hosted on campus."
 
SLU, 3-19 in 2021, is preparing for its second full season on the sand. The Beach Lions were able to squeeze in one tournament to open up the 2020 season before all NCAA sports were shut down.
 
Southeastern opens its 2022 season next weekend in Houston, Texas at the HBU Tournament. The Beach Lions will face host HBU at 11 a.m. Friday and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi later that afternoon at 2 p.m. SLU will match up with ULM at 10 a.m. Saturday and New Orleans later that afternoon at 3 p.m.
 
DIGGIN' IT CLUB / S CLUB
Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the Southeastern volleyball program are encouraged to join the Diggin' It Club. Lion volleyball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.
 
All membership fees and donations to both the Diggin' It Club and S Club (volleyball) are available for the exclusive use of the Southeastern volleyball program.
