BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Louisiana University track & field teams kicked off its indoor schedule on Friday in a big way as Justin Forde set a new school record in the triple jump at the Birmingham-Southern College Indoor Icebreaker.
 
Forde jumped 15.54 meters in the triple jump that not just set a new SLU triple jump, record, but also garnered him the triple jump championship in Birmingham, taking the title by almost a full meter over second place.
 
The triple jump win by Forde was one of five individual titles taken by Lions at Birmingham-Southern. Slavko Stevic and Katrine Olsen swept the high jump events with Stevic winning the men's title with a jump of 6'10.75" while Olsen took the women's title with a high jump of 5'7.00". Tommy Nedow earned the shot put title with a 53'5.5" throw. Terrell Webb took home the weight throw title with a throw of 59'5.0" throw.
