HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's basketball teams open their respective 2022-23 seasons, while the football and volleyball teams celebrate Senior Day during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The Lions and Lady Lions open the hoops campaign with a doubleheader Monday in the University Center. The night's action opens with a 5 p.m. contest between the SLU women and LSU Alexandria, while the Southeastern men host defending NAIA national champion Loyola (N.O.) in the University Center.
 
Monday will feature the Lion Slam promotion that features fun giveaways. Jalencia Pierre and Allasia Washington are Monday's Spotlight Players of the Game and the first 150 fans at the women's game will receive trading cards featuring the freshman guards courtesy of PRIDE.
 
The SLU men's basketball team will then open its road schedule with an 8:30 p.m. contest at Colorado State Friday, before closing the trip at Wyoming Sunday at 3 p.m.
 
The Southeastern women's basketball team will also head west on its first road trip of the season. The Lady Lions will open their road slate at Utah State Friday at 4 p.m. before traveling to Utah for a 6 p.m. contest on Sunday.
 
The Lion football team (6-3, 3-1 SLC) closes its regular season home schedule Saturday, welcoming Southland leader Northwestern State for a 4 p.m. contest in Strawberry Stadium. Approximately 30 minutes prior to the game, the 2022 senior class of Ferlando Jordan, Brandon Barbee, Cephus Johnson III, Nick Kovacs, Terrell Carter, Donniel Ward-Magee, Jessie Britt, Taron Jones, Carlos Washington Jr., Heath Stephen II, Tyree Rhodes and CJ Turner, will be honored in a Senior Day ceremony.
 
The SLU volleyball team (21-7, 11-5 SLC) is a game out of the league lead entering the final week of the regular season. The Lady Lions will travel to league co-leader McNeese for a 4 p.m. match Thursday. SLU welcomes UIW Saturday for a noon match in the University Center. The senior class of Crispin Adams, Ariana Hebert, Jolie Hidalgo and Addie Vidrine will be honored prior to Saturday's match for Senior Day.
 
On The Air
Monday's basketball games and this week's football game can be seen on ESPN3, while Saturday's volleyball match will air on ESPN+. The SLU football game versus Northwestern State can also be heard live in the Hammond area on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM).
 
Both of the men's basketball road games will be streamed on Mountain Sports Network. A stream of Thursday's volleyball match, as well as the women's basketball contests Friday and Sunday will be available via the respective hosts' websites.
 
The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo is set for Monday at 7 p.m. The show will air weekly on the radio home of SLU Football - Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM. Hosted by Scelfo and Allen Waddell, the hour-long show will feature the latest on all things Lion Football.
 
Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden (505 W. Thomas St.) will serve as the host for the remainder of the season and the show will air from Pour House on Mondays at 7 p.m. through Nov. 21.
