HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's cross-country teams are making the ride down to Thibodaux in preparation for Friday's Southland Conference Championships at The Farm.
The Lions have been led by
Chris Norman in all three previous events leading up to Friday's Conference Championships as the first Southeastern runner to cross the line in each previous meet. When the Lions were in Thibodaux earlier in the season, Norman ended the four-mile course in 22.57.88.
SLU's women's team has seen its team results improve in each meet this season, starting with a sixth-place finish at the New Orleans Invitational before moving up to a fifth-place team finish at the Nicholls Invitational and then a fourth-place finish at the LSU Invitational. Ines Legandre has crossed the line first for the Lady Lions in all three previous meets, including a top-ten finish when Southeastern was previously in Thibodaux back on Sept. 17
th.
The Southland Conference Championships are Friday morning with the women's meet started at 8:30 A.M. and the men's starting at 9:30 A.M. at The Farm in Thibodaux. The women will race on a 6K course while the men's course will cover 8K in distance.
