HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University cross country teams will compete in the Southland Conference Championships, while the football, volleyball and soccer teams face league completion, beach volleyball faces a conference rival in fall action, the SLU men's and women's basketball programs participate in the SLC Virtual Media Day and the LAA hosts Fall Fest in Friendship Circle during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The Lions and Lady Lions will compete in the Southland Cross Country Championships on Friday. The women's 6K race is set for 8:30 a.m. and the men will tackle the 8K course at 9:30 a.m.
 
Fresh off a 31-14 road win at Jacksonville State, the SLU football team (4-3, 1-1 SLC) will continue its road swing this week. Southeastern will travel to McNeese for a 7 p.m. conference matchup Saturday in Lake Charles.
 
After taking down the top two teams in the SLC standings in consecutive matches last week, the SLU volleyball team (17-6, 7-4 Southland) closes out a home stand with a 6:30 p.m. contest Thursday versus New Orleans. Southeastern travels to Nicholls for an 11 a.m. match Saturday.
 
The Lady Lions soccer team (6-5-3, 4-3-3 SLC) will close out its regular season schedule this week. SLU will travel to Northwestern State to face the Lady Demons Friday at 7 p.m.
 
The Southeastern beach volleyball team will compete in fall action Sunday, traveling to face SLC foe New Orleans.
 
The Lion Athletics Association will host Fall Fest in Friendship Circle presented by Wiseguys Daiquiris Friday.
 
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and will feature a Trunk-or-Treat, face painting, as well as a costume and trunk decorating contest. Captain's Tasty Treats and Cajun Flavors & BBQ will be present, as well as Roomie the Lion, spirit members and select Southeastern student-athletes.

On The Air
The Southland Conference will host its Virtual Basketball Media Day Tuesday at 10 a.m. on ESPN+. The Southeastern segment, featuring men's basketball head coach David Kiefer and women's basketball head coach Ayla Guzzardo, is set for 12:28 p.m.
 
Thursday's volleyball match and Saturday's football game will be televised on ESPN+. The SLU football game at McNeese can also be heard live in the Hammond area on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM).
 
The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo is set for Monday at 7 p.m. The show will air weekly on the radio home of SLU Football - Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM. Hosted by Scelfo and Allen Waddell, the hour-long show will feature the latest on all things Lion Football.
 
Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden (505 W. Thomas St.) will serve as the host for the remainder of the season and the show will air from Pour House on Mondays at 7 p.m. through Nov. 21.
