BATON ROUGE, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University track and field team will open its indoor schedule Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational at Carl Maddox Field House in Baton Rouge.
The Lions and Lady Lions will be in action with 20 SLU student-athletes – 15 men andfive women - on Friday's schedule;
"The main thing is to get back out there and compete," said SLU track and field head coach
Corey Mistretta. "And for nobody to have any individual pressure. We just want to get back in the swing of things and get our athletes prepared for the long haul."
On the men's side, returners
Kendall Cleveland,
Roman Damasch,
Kevin Domino,
Damon Herod, Damon Morton and Tommy Nedow will be in action.
Newcomers Eugene and Jamie Omalla,
Cole Palmer, Wjuantereuas Rodrigue,
Omri Shiff,
Slavko Stevic,
Robin Vrbek,
Julius Kemper and
Noah Kiprotich will also make their indoor debuts for SLU.
For the women's team, returner
Brigid Tournoux will compete while newcomers
Shania Brumfield,
Chelsea Harrington,
Camille McGee and
Katrine Olsen will begin their Lions' careers.
