HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University football, soccer, volleyball, cross country and softball teams will all be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The No. 16 SLU football team (2-1) will open Southland Conference play this week, traveling to McNeese for a noon game in Lake Charles on Saturday.
 
The Lady Lion soccer team (3-5-1, 2-2-1 Southland) will conclude its road swing this week. On Friday, Southeastern travels down to Nicholls for a 1 p.m. conference matinee. SLU takes a break from league action on Sunday, traveling to Louisiana Tech for a 1 p.m. nonconference contest.
 
The Southeastern volleyball team (2-10, 1-0 Southland) hits the road for a pair of league matches. Defending Southland Conference Tournament champion Texas A&M-Corpus Christi awaits the Lady Lions on Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. match. On Saturday, UIW will host SLU for a 1:30 p.m. match.
 
The SLU men's and women's cross country teams will return to action this week. On Saturday, the Lions and Lady Lions will be in Thibodaux to compete in the Southland Pre-Conference meet.
 
The Lady Lion softball team continues its fall exhibition schedule this week with a pair of 10-inning exhibitions at Hammond America Sportsplex. SLU will host LSU Eunice on Wednesday and Meridian CC on Friday. Both games will start at 5 p.m.

Saturday's football game will be televised on Cox Sports Television and ESPN+. The game can also be heard in the Hammond area on Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM and online at www.kajun107.net.
 
Live streams of both Thursday's (www.goislanders.com) and Saturday's (www.uiwcardinals.com) volleyball matches will also be available.
