HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis team will compete in its second tournament of the fall this week, traveling to Natchitoches, Louisiana to participate in the Natchitoches Women's Care/Lady Demon Invitational on the Northwestern State campus.
 
Southeastern is part of a field for the tournament, which is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, that includes host NSU, Lamar, Southern Miss, Stephen F. Austin and ULM.
 
Singles and doubles play starts Friday. In the top singles draw, top Lion returner Putri Insani opens the tournament versus Nyah Kauders of SFA at 8:30 a.m. In the Black singles draw, SLU's Flory Bierma matches up with Northwestern State's Tjasa Klevisar at 10 a.m.
 
At 8:30 a.m., Southeastern freshman Sonya Kanarskaya faces NSU's Dorota Szczygielska while teammate Kate Oborina meets SFA's Lucy Furness in the first round of the Orange draw. Polina Sleptsova will represent the Lions in the White draw, facing Ebru Yazgan of USM at 8:30 a.m.
 
A pair of SLU players will compete in the Grey draw. Jordan Burdett faces Lamar's Elena Rubio at 10 a.m. on Friday, while teammate Bogi Csordas receives a bye into the 1:30 p.m. semifinals where she awaits the winner of the opening round match between Lamar's Jayci Wong and Al No Fabre of SFA.
 
In doubles play, Insani and Bierma will team in the Purple draw, opening the tournament versus USM's Sarah Medik and Monique Burton. Kanarskaya and Oborina meet Alba Perez and Lou Dupuis of Lamar in the White draw, which also includes Csordas and Sleptsova facing off with the LU duo of Wong and Ana Jolic. All three doubles matches start at 2:30 p.m.
 
Burdett will team with NSU's Thitirat Kanaphuet in the round-robin Orange doubles draw.
