HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University softball team will open its fall exhibition schedule with a 10-inning exhibition versus Northwest Florida State College at 5 p.m. at Hammond America Sportsplex.
 
All of Southeastern's eight exhibitions are scheduled for 10 innings. The Lady Lions will play the first seven exhibitions at Hammond America Sportsplex due to the damage to North Oak Park caused by Hurricane Ida.
 
SLU will host LSU Eunice (Sept. 29, 5 p.m.), Meridian CC (Oct. 1, 5 p.m.), Baton Rouge CC (Oct. 6, 5 p.m.), East Central CC (Oct. 8, 4 p.m.), Coastal Alabama CC (Oct. 20, 5 p.m.) and Louisiana College (Oct. 22, 5 p.m.). Southeastern will travel to Jones College to close out the fall schedule on Oct. 29 at 5 p.m.
 
Southeastern returns 12 letterwinners from last season's team that finished 28-22 overall. Offensively, the top returners are Audrey Greely (.400, 3 HR, 22 RBI, 18 SB), Aeriyl Mass (.368, 10 2B, 3 HR, 30 RBI, 30 SB), Lindsey Rizzo (.353, 30 SB) and Cameron Goodman (.328, 4 3B, 29 SB). Greely, Rizzo and Mass all earned All-Southland Conference recognition in 2021 after leading a SLU lineup that finished with a .291 team batting average.
 
The ace of the Southeastern staff is senior Heather Zumo, who finished 16-6 with a 2.33 earned run average on the way to earning All-Southland and All-Louisiana honors. MC Comeaux (9-5, 4.62 ERA) and Ellie DuBois (single-season school record six saves) are the other top arms for SLU, which posted a 3.85 ERA as a staff in the spring.
