HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana softball team will continue its home stand on Tuesday, hosting in-state foe Southern at 6 p.m. at North Oak Park.
The game between the Lady Lions (25-16) and the visiting Lady Jaguars (10-20) will be televised live on ESPN+. Live stats will also be available at

Southeastern is coming off a nearly week-long layoff, as its scheduled series with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last weekend was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols within the Islander program. SLU last played last Wednesday, using a seven-run fifth inning to take down ULM, 7-1.
The Lady Lions come into Tuesday's contest with a .289 batting average and feature a quintet of hitters topping .300 for the season.
Audrey Greely (.398, 5
th) and
Lindsey Rizzo (.367, 10
th) rank among the league's top hitters for average, while
Aeriyl Mass (.352),
Cameron Goodman (.344) and
Anna Rodenberg (.368) have also been efficient at the plate. Mass is currently second in the Southland in both hits (50) and runs scored (34).
Mass also is 10
th in the conference with her team-high 26 RBI, as she and Greely share team-high honors with three home runs each. Greely's seven doubles are good for 10
th in the league, while Goodman sits at second in the Southland with three triples.
Southeastern is currently second in the nation with 116 stolen bases and ranks third in stolen bases per game (2.80). Mass (24, 2
nd), Goodman (23, 3
rd) and Rizzo (22, 5
th) all rank among the league leaders, while Greely and
Kelci Bodin have been effective with 12 steals apiece.
Heather Zumo (15-3, 1.98 ERA) has been the ace for a Southeastern pitching staff that is maintaining a 3.76 team earned run average with
MC Comeaux (8-5, 4.79 ERA) and
Sophie Hannabas (2-4, 6.14 ERA) also seeing a significant workload in the circle. Closer
Ellie DuBois (0-2, 2.78 ERA, 6 saves) is currently second nationally with her league-high and single-season school record save total.
SLU will be facing a SU lineup that is hitting .234 as a team. Lauren Parks (.381) and Mariyah Sandoval (.340) are the top hitters for average for the Lady Jaguars.
Southern comes to Hammond with a 5.64 team earned run average. Kaytlin Donaldson (4-9, 4.57 ERA) and Aubrion James (3-7, 5.65 ERA, 1 save) are the primary arms for the visitors.

Southeastern will close out its Southland Conference regular season home schedule this week, hosting Central Arkansas for a three-game Southland Conference series. The series opens with a 5 p.m. doubleheader on Friday and concludes with a noon contest on Saturday.
Saturday will be Senior Day at North Oak Park, as the senior class of Rodenberg, Bodin,
Cameron Beal and
Shelby Sitzman will be honored following the game. The entire series will be televised on ESPN+.
