HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana earned the No. 6 seed in the inaugural Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Tournament and will face No. 3-seeded Houston Baptist in the opening round Friday at Water's Edge Park in Corpus Christi, Texas. Seeding for the event is based on the Pablo Beach Ranking system.
 
Tournament participants are, in order of seeding, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (No. 24 Pablo), Stephen F. Austin (No. 36 Pablo), Houston Baptist (No. 39 Pablo), Central Arkansas (No. 43 Pablo), New Orleans (No. 45 Pablo) and Southeastern (No. 70 Pablo)
 
The Beach Lions (3-17) face HBU (6-20) on the shores of Corpus Christi Bay at 12 p.m. Friday in the second dual of the double-elimination event. The winner advances to face No. 2-seeded SFA (8-12) later that afternoon at 2 p.m. The drops into a 3 p.m. elimination contest with the loser of the UCA (17-14)-UNO (7-14) matchup.
 
Play continues Saturday with the championship dual scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday.
 
Southeastern faced all five tournament participants during the regular season and matches up against the Huskies for the second time in a week, having dropped a 5-0 decision to its first-round opponent this past Saturday in Houston, Texas.
 
The Beach Lions' top pairings this season were Hannah Barosh and Michelle Mirarchi (7-13) along with Mikayla Richard and Meagan Scuderi (5-15).
