HAMMOND, La. – The Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana women's soccer team will find out its NCAA Tournament opponent, the beach volleyball team participates in the Southland Championships, the baseball team looks to protect its league lead, the softball team hosts Senior Day and the track team continues preparations for next month's Southland Conference Championships during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
After winning the Southland Conference Tournament for the fifth time in program history, the Lady Lion soccer team (8-2-4) will make its fourth appearance in the NCAA Championships. The entire tournament will take place in Cary, North Carolina and the surrounding areas with first round matches set for April 27 and 28. Southeastern's opponent will be announced on Monday at noon as part of the NCAA Selection Show on NCAA.com.
 
The SLU beach volleyball team (3-17) will compete in the inaugural Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championships this week in Corpus Christi, Texas. The double-elimination tournament is scheduled for Friday through Sunday. SLU's opponent and first round match time will be announced when the bracket is finalized.
 
Fresh off a four-game series sweep of Stephen F. Austin, the Southeastern baseball team (24-12, 17-7 Southland) will look to remain atop the Southland Conference standings when it travels to second-place New Orleans for a four-game league series on the Lakefront. The Ponchartrain Bowl will be decided in the series, which opens on Friday at 6:30 p.m., continues with a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and concludes on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
The Lady Lion softball team (24-16, 13-5 Southland) will open a 10-game home stand with four games on tap this week at North Oak Park. On Wednesday, Southeastern hosts ULM at 6 p.m. before welcoming Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a three-game Southland series. The series opens with a 5 p.m. doubleheader on Friday and concludes with a 12 p.m. contest on Saturday.
 
The SLU men's and women's track and field team will return to competition this week. On Saturday, members of the Lions and Lady Lions will compete in the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
 
This Week's Promotions
Saturday will be Softball Senior Day at North Oak Park. The senior class of Anna Rodenberg, Cameron Beal, Kelci Bodin and Shelby Sitzman will be honored in conjunction with Saturday's series finale.
 
On The Air
This week's softball games will be televised on ESPN+. This week's SLU baseball contests can be heard on KSLU-FM (90.9).
 
The final Spring 2021 episode of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo, sponsored by Louisiana's First Choice Auto Auction, airs Monday night at 7 p.m. on the outside patio of Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden (505 West Thomas Street). Hosted by Allen Waddell, the show will air on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM).
 
The latest edition of Inside Southeastern Baseball with Matt Riser, presented by Blackened Brew is set for Monday. Airing every Monday during the baseball season at 12 p.m. on KSLU 90.9 FM, the one-hour show airs live from Blackened Brew in downtown Hammond.
