HAMMOND, La. – The most action-packed week in the history of the program is on tap for Southeastern Louisiana, as 13 different sports will be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.  
 
The SLU women's basketball team (11-7) will be the No. 2 seed in the Southland Conference Tournament and earns a bye into the semifinals round and will play either Abilene Christian, UIW, Nicholls or Sam Houston on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas. Sunday's championship game is set for 1 p.m. with the winner earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
 
As the No. 8 seed, the Southeastern men's basketball team (7-17) has to win five games to win the Southland Conference Tournament. To reach Saturday's 8:30 p.m. championship game, SLU would need to defeat McNeese on Tuesday, New Orleans on Wednesday, Northwestern State on Thursday and Nicholls on Friday. All of the first four day's SLU games would tip off at 5 p.m.
 
After earning Most Valuable Performer honors at the Southland Conference Indoor Championships last week, Shea Foster will compete in the 5,000 meters on Friday at 3:25 p.m. at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It will be first of two national meets in a four-day span for Foster, who will compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championships next Monday.
 
The No. 23 Southeastern football team (1-1, 1-1 Southland) will host its second straight league opponent on Saturday, hosting Northwestern State at 6 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium.
 
The Lion baseball team (7-4) opens Southland Conference play this weekend, hosting league foe Sam Houston State for a four-game series at Alumni Field. The series opens with a 6 p.m. contest on Friday, continues on Saturday with an 11 a.m. doubleheader and concludes with a 1 p.m. game on Sunday.
 
The Southeastern softball team (8-10) returns home to host Southern Miss on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in North Oak Park. The Lady Lions will then open its Southland Conference slate with a three-game home series versus Lamar. On Friday, the teams meet for a 4 p.m. doubleheader with Saturday's series finale set for noon.
 
The SLU indoor volleyball team (5-3, 3-2 Southland) has three league matches on tap this week. On Tuesday, the Lady Lions travel to Lamar for a 6:30 p.m. match. Southeastern returns home to host Abilene Christian on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Stephen F. Austin on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the University Center.
 
The Lady Lion soccer team (2-2-1, 2-2-1 Southland) will return home to host McNeese at 7 p.m. on Friday in Strawberry Stadium.
 
The Southeastern tennis team (3-7, 1-3 Southland) also has conference competition on the schedule. The Lions will close out a four-match road swing with a 1 p.m. match on Friday at Northwestern State and an 11 a.m. match at Central Arkansas on Saturday.
 
A week after sharing the team tournament title at the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate, the SLU men's golf team will return to the links. SLU will travel to Spring, Texas to play in the Colin Montgomerie Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
 
The Lady Lion beach volleyball team (0-4) travels to compete in the ULM Invitational. On Friday, SLU opens the tournament versus Central Arkansas at 1 p.m. A tripleheader awaits Southeastern on Saturday, as the Lady Lions face UCA at noon, ULM at 3 p.m. and UNO at 4:30 p.m.
 
The SLU men's and women's track and field teams will travel to Mobile, Alabama to compete in the South Alabama Invitational on Friday to open the outdoor season.
 
On The Air
All of the non-championship round men's and women's basketball tournament games, Saturday's football game, Sunday's baseball game, Wednesday and Friday's softball games and Thursday's volleyball match will be televised on ESPN+. The Southeastern Sports Network will air Friday and Saturday's baseball games at www.LionSports.net/listenlive.
 
Saturday's Southland Conference Men's Tournament championship game will be shown on ESPN2. The women's tournament final airs on CBS Sports Network on Sunday.
 
Saturday's football game will be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM). This week's baseball games can be heard live in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9).
 
Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo, sponsored by Louisiana's First Choice Auto Auction, airs Monday night at 7 p.m. on the outside patio of Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden (505 West Thomas Street). Hosted by Allen Waddell, the show will air on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM) every Monday during the season.
 
The latest edition of Inside Southeastern Baseball with Matt Riser, presented by Blackened Brew. Airing every Monday during the baseball season at 12 p.m. on KSLU 90.9 FM, the one-hour show airs live from Blackened Brew in downtown Hammond.
