HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's tennis team will open its Southland Conference road schedule this week with a pair of matches.
 
On Friday, SLU (3-5, 1-1 Southland) will open the week's action, traveling to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (11-1, 1-0 Southland) for a 1 p.m. match. The Lions close the weekend with an 11 a.m. match at Lamar (4-3, 1-1 Southland) on Sunday.
 
Southeastern is led in singles play by Putri Insani and Flory Bierma. The Lion sophomores each have three singles victories this spring.
 
In doubles play, Southeastern is 5-0 versus Southland Conference competition. Bierma and Annemart Kleijn (4-3, 2-0 Southland) has the team's best doubles mark heading into league road play.
 
Mariya Shumeika (11-0) leads Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in singles play. She and Camille Townsend also have an 11-1 record on the top of the doubles draw.
 
Bianca Vitale boasts a team-best 5-2 singles record for Lamar. Alba Perez and Elena Rodriguez head into the weekend with a 4-0 record in doubles competition.
 
Up Next
Southeastern will play four straight away from home, closing out the road swing with matches at Northwestern State (March 12, 1 p.m.) and Central Arkansas (March 14, 11 a.m.).
