HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana indoor volleyball team will compete in the Southland Conference Tournament, while the SLU football, baseball, softball, soccer, track, tennis and beach volleyball teams will all be in action during another action-packed week in Southeastern Athletics.
The Lady Lion indoor volleyball team (11-4) enters this week's league tournament in Corpus Christi, Texas as the No. 3 seed. Second-year head coach
Jeremy White's squad will receive a first-round bye into Thursday's 4 p.m. quarterfinals and will await the winner of Wednesday's match between No. 6 Central Arkansas and No. 7 Abilene Christian.
Should SLU get past the UCA-ACU winner, it will move on to face second-seeded Sam Houston in Friday's 12 p.m. semifinals. First serve for Saturday's championship match is set for 2 p.m. with the winner advancing to the NCAA Tournament, which begin April 14 in Omaha, Nebraska.
The No. 22/23 Southeastern football team (2-2, 2-2 Southland) returns to action after a bye week. The Lions will close out its spring 2021 home schedule with a 6 p.m. contest versus Lamar on Saturday in Strawberry Stadium.
Fresh off a series sweep at Lamar, the league-leading SLU baseball team (16-8, 9-3 Southland) will return to Hammond to host McNeese for a four-game Southland series, beginning with a 6 p.m. contest on Thursday. The series continues with a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Friday at Alumni Field, before concluding with Saturday's 1 p.m. contest.
After winning the first three Southland series of the season, the Lady Lion softball team (17-13, 7-2 Southland) will look to continue its hot start to league play. The Lady Lions will travel to Nicholls for a three-game series with the Colonels. The series opens with a 5 p.m. contest on Friday and concludes with Saturday's noon doubleheader.
The Southeastern soccer team (3-2-4, 3-2-4 SLC) will open a three-match home stand this week. On Thursday, SLU welcomes Houston Baptist for a 7 p.m. match in Strawberry Stadium. The Lady Lions will get an early start on Saturday, hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 10 a.m.
After setting several new school records at last week's Texas Relays, the SLU men's and women's track and field teams will again test their mettle against the nation's elite this week. The Lions and Lady Lions will be in Gainesville, Florida to compete in the Florida Relays, which run Thursday through Saturday.
The Lion tennis team (5-12, 2-6 Southland) will hit the road for a pair of matches this week. On Wednesday, SLU takes a break from league competition with a 5 p.m. match at Jackson State. Southeastern then heads to McNeese on Saturday for a 2 p.m. conference contest in Lake Charles.
The Southeastern beach volleyball team will return to the courts on Monday. The Beach Lions will travel to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to play UNO at 4 p.m. and Southern Miss at 6 p.m.

The entire Southland Conference Indoor Volleyball Tournament, Saturday's football game and the Lion baseball series with McNeese will be televised on ESPN+. Thursday and Saturday's soccer matches will be streamed for free on the Southeastern Sports Network at

This Week's Promotions
On Thursday, SLU celebrates April Fools' Day in conjunction with the 7 p.m. soccer match versus HBU. The Southeastern Athletics Marketing and Promotions department will have tricks up its sleeves and fans will have the opportunity to spin the prize wheel.
Fans attending Saturday's 10 a.m. soccer match versus Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will enjoy "Brunch in the 'Berry". Free breakfast will be served while supplies last.
