HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's tennis team will return to action this week, hosting a pair of Southland Conference foes at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
The Lions (4-11, 1-5 Southland) opens the conference twin bill with a 1 p.m. match versus Nicholls (4-10, 1-3 Southland) on Friday. New Orleans (6-2, 5-1 Southland) visits Hammond on Sunday with first serve set for 11 a.m.
Southeastern snapped a six-match losing streak with a 4-0 victory over Southern.
Putri Insani,
Flory Bierma and
Ximena Yanez earned straight-set singles victories to propel the Lions to victory.
Insani (9-3) carries a six-match singles winning streak at the top of the draw into this week's action. In doubles play, Insani and Yanez (4-3), Bierma and
Annemart Kleijn (5-7), as well as
Katya Cornejo and
Ariadna Perez (3-2) have been the top pairs for the Lions.
Nicholls is led in singles by Morgan Forshag (7-5) and Nuria Martin Lopez (7-6). Martin Lopez and Nikita Pinto boast a team-best 4-0 doubles mark.
Ank Vullings leads the Privateers with a 7-1 singles mark. She also has teamed with Lea Alguacil for a team-best 5-1 doubles record.

Following this week's action, SLU will travel to face Jackson State on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Jackson, Mississippi.
