SLU Travels to ULM for Midweek Contest

Lady Lions, Warhawks square off Wedneday at 6 p.m.

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana softball team will close out a four-game road swing with a 6 p.m. contest at ULM on Wednesday.

Live stats, provided by ULM, for the game between the Lady Lions (14-12) and the host Warhawks (10-12), will be accessible on the softball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.

The Lady Lions opened the road portion of their Southland Conference schedule by taking two of three at Houston Baptist last weekend. Southeastern and HBU split Friday's doubleheader, then SLU put together a six-run second inning on the way to a 9-4 win in Saturday's rubber game.

Southeastern is hitting .284 as a team – good for fourth in the Southland – heading into Wednesday's contest. Lindsey Rizzo is ninth in the league with a team-high .402 batting average. Aeriyl Mass is second in the Southland in hits (34), runs scored (22) and triples (2), while Rizzo is third in the conference with 33 hits and 20 runs.

Mass' 17 RBI are good for sixth in the league, while teammate Ella Manzer is ninth in the Southland with 15 runs batted in. Mass, Cameron Goodman, Briahna Bennett and Ellie DuBois all share the team lead with two home runs each, while Manzer and Rizzo sit tied atop the squad's individual leaderboard with four doubles apiece.

SLU is leading the league and second in Division I with 81 stolen bases on the year. Mass (18, 2nd), Rizzo (17, 3rd), Goodman (14, 5th), Kelci Bodin (10, 8th) and Audrey Greely (8, 10th) all rank in the league's top 10 for steals.

The Lady Lion pitching staff has a 4.80 team ERA coming into Wednesday's game. Heather Zumo (9-2, 2.40 ERA) has been the Lady Lions' most effective arm, ranking among the Southland leaders in ERA (8th), wins (2nd), innings pitched (70.0, 2nd), strikeouts (69, 2nd) and opposing batting average (.222, 7th).

Ellie DuBois (0-1, 3.94 ERA, 3 saves) is second in the Southland in saves, while MC Comeaux (5-5, 5.84 ERA) and Sophie Hannabas (0-3, 7.84 ERA) have also seen plenty of action in the circle for the Lady Lions.

The SLU pitchers will be facing a ULM lineup that carries a .267 team batting average. Korie Kreps leads the Warhawks with a .381 batting average and nine doubles. Kreps and Jayden Mount share team-high honors with three home runs each with Mount also leading the team with 17 RBI.
