NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's tennis team suffered a 4-0 loss at the hands of Houston Saturday afternoon at City Park.
 
The Lions (3-11) dropped two doubles matches and three singles matches in the loss. Houston improved to 10-3 this spring with the win.
 
The Cougars jumped out to the lead with a pair of doubles wins. On No. 1, Mimi Kendall-Woseley and Laura Slisane earned a 6-0 victory over SLU's Putri Insani and Polina Sleptsova. Houston clinched the doubles point on No. 3, as Bianca Cortijo and Azul Pedemonti handled SLU's Katya Cornejo and Ximena Yanez, 6-3.
 
The highlight in singles play for the Lions came on the No. 1 court, as Insani – winner of her last five singles matches – took the first set, 6-4, from Kendall-Woseley, before the match was halted after the team result had been decided. UH secured the win with straight set wins on courts 3, 5 and 6.

Southeastern will close out a stretch of three nonconference matches in five days with a 4 p.m. match versus Southern on Monday at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
