TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Shea Foster,
Grant O'Callaghan,
Adam Cortez and
Anthony Cordero each finished in the Top 10 Friday morning at the FSU Winter Classic for the Southeastern Louisiana men's cross-country team at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.

Foster, a Lamar transfer from Cypress, Texas, finished seventh in the 8K Garnett race (143 runners) clocking in at 23:40.6 to set the all-time school high mark for the 8K.

In the 8K Gold race featuring 96 runners, O'Callaghan (24:55.9) finished second just behind Colorado's Ethan Powell (24:51.8). The runner up finish was the sixth top 10 finish for O'Callaghan, out of Flowery Branch, Georgia, in his career.

Cortez, a senior, finished sixth in a time of 25:07.0. The El Paso, Texas native now has seven top 10 finishes to his resume along with qualifying for the 2018 and 2019 South Central Regional.

Cordero, also from El Paso, placed 10
th just seconds behind Cortez. The senior timed in at 25:15.5 as the Franklin High grad achieved his eighth top 10 finish of his career. Â

The Lions finished second as a team in the Gold race behind New Orleans. Youngtown State and Tennessee Tech were third and fourth respectively.

"I thought Shea ran an exceptional race against some of the best competition," said SLU cross country head coach Mistretta. "I thought it was good for everyone to get back on the course and the guys competed well. But there is still a lot of work to be done before the conference championships."

SLU turns their attention to the Southland Conference Championships which is Monday, Feb. 15 hosted by Southeastern at Sidney Hutchison Park in Walker, Louisiana.
