Box Score NEW ORLEANS, La. – Southeastern Louisiana sophomore
Putri Insani earned a singles victory on the No. 1 court in the Lions' 6-1 loss at Tulane in non-conference women's tennis action Saturday afternoon at City Park Tennis Center.

Insani's victory supplied the lone point for SLU (1-3), which closed a four-match road swing to start the spring season. Tulane swept through doubles play and won five of six singles matches to improve to 6-3 this spring.

"We had a great week of practice, despite the weather," Southeastern head coach
Jason Hayes said. "We worked on a lot of things, including being more positive and I couldn't be happier with the girls' effort today. I like where we're at as a team, but we still have a lot of work to do."

Tulane is the third straight high-level opponent SLU has faced, following losses at Mississippi State and South Alabama. The fierce competition is steeling the Lions for the upcoming Southland Conference schedule, according to Hayes.

"We've definitely played a killer schedule thus far this spring," Hayes commented. "But if we want to be successful in conference play, we have to test ourselves against the best competition.

The Green Wave clinched the match by sweeping doubles play and earning straight-set victories on the bottom three courts in the singles draw. The top three singles courts were all very competitive.

On No. 1, Insani (2-2) outlasted Mary Caroline Meredith for a 6-4, 7-5 victory. SLU's
Polina Sleptsova (1-3) pushed Tulane's Adelaide Lavery, before ultimately falling, 7-5, 3-6, 10-6. On No. 3,
Teodora Mitrovic (1-1) was unable to get past Kristen Borland in a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) defeat.
