Â
The Lady Lions finished eighth last year while Central Arkansas claimed the title in the conference championships.
Sophie Daigle is expected to contend for the Lady Lions. The senior out of Donaldsonville, Louisiana finished 14
th  last year in a time of 22:05.9 setting a personal best in the 6k.
Â
On the men's side, the Lions are looking to dethrone reigning conference champion Lamar. Southeastern enters Sunday's race ranked third in the USTFCCCA South-Central Regional Rankings. SLU is led by seniors
Grant O'Callaghan,
Adam Cortez,
Anthony Cordero, junior
Shea Foster and sophomore newcomer
Bradley Makuvire.
Â
Foster, the Southland Conference Athlete of the Week for Feb. 11, set a school record 23:40.6 in the 8k Feb. 5 at the FSU Winter Classic placing seventh in a field of 143.

Â
O'Callaghan, who redshirted the season in 2019, finished eighth in the conference championship race in 2018. The Flowery Branch, Georgia native is coming off a runner up finish at FSU in the 8k. The senior has six top 10 finishes in his career entering Sunday's race.
Â
Cortez, also out of El Paso, finished sixth last week in the 8k at FSU. The Franklin High grad looks to boast his resume after qualifying for the 2019 NCAA South Central Regional.
Â
Makuvire, a transfer from Butler Community College, placed 18
th last week at FSU. The Zimbabwe native looks to make his mark at the Division I rank after finishing eighth in the NJCAA National Championships.
Â
"There are some extremely worthy teams in our conference who will show up with a real chance to win," said SLU cross country head coach
Corey Mistretta. "We must remain focused, committed to the plan, and race together as a team. If we can do that, we have as good a chance as anyone." Â
Â
Live video will be available for Sunday's race as the Southeastern Sports Network will stream both men's and women's races. Stats and results will be available at the SLU cross country schedule page.
