HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball program opens an abbreviated fall schedule Saturday, facing three teams in the Southern Miss Fall Invitational at the Southern Miss Beach Volleyball Courts.
 
SLU pairs will face Spring Hill, Tulane and host Southern Miss on a rotating basis beginning at 2:30 p.m.
 
The Lady Lions return their top duo from the spring. Seniors Hannah Barosh and Michelle Mirarchi combined for an 8-14 record, playing primarily in the second flight.
 
Meagan Scuderi will be looking for a new partner after teaming with Mikayla Richard for a 6-16 record, playing all but one dual as the No. 1 pair.
 
Richard and Marisa Calvaruso, who both graduated this past spring, are the only two losses off last season's squad. SLU returns eight players, including Linsey Sackett, Nylissa Snagg and Eryn Wilks. Ariana Hebert and Jolie Hidalgo, members of the indoor squad, will join their teammates on the sand in the spring.
 
Newcomers include freshmen Avery Carroll, Allison Haerer, Jackie McGee and Jolie Savoie, along with Bailey Lyons, a transfer from Nicholls, and Mabry Ward, a transfer from Tusculum.
 
Freshman indoor players Hannah Brewer, Hannah Haerer and Lexi Gonzalez will also compete in the spring schedule.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern has two more weekends of fall action coming up next month. The Beach Lions will host Southland Conference foe New Orleans in a doubleheader, Nov. 6, at the Southeastern Beach Volleyball Complex in North Oak Park. SLU wraps up its fall slate, Nov. 21, in the Tulane Fall Beach Volleyball Tournament

Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the Southeastern volleyball program are encouraged to join the Diggin' It Club. Lion volleyball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.
