HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball and tennis teams open their respective spring 2021 seasons, while the basketball and track and field teams also will be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The Lady Lion volleyball team will open up its second season under head coach Jeremy White on Friday with a non-conference match. SLU will take on Southern Miss at 7 p.m. in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
 
The SLU tennis team will also open its spring in Mississippi. On Saturday, SLU faces Alcorn State at 11 a.m., before taking on Mississippi State on Sunday for a 9 a.m. match.
 
The SLU men's basketball team (4-11, 2-4 Southland) will host a pair of Southland Conference foes this week. On Wednesday, Central Arkansas visits the University Center for an 8 p.m. contest. The Lions host New Orleans on Saturday for a 4 p.m. matinee.
 
The Southeastern women's basketball team (4-5, 3-3 Southland) continues its six-game home stand this week. The Lady Lions host UCA on Wednesday at 5 p.m. and close out the week with a 1 p.m. contest versus UNO on Saturday.
 
On Friday, the SLU men's and women's track and field teams will compete in their second meet of the indoor season. The Lions and Lady Lions will be in Baton Rouge to participate in the LSU Louisiana Invitational.

All of this week's basketball games will air on ESPN+ and broadcast live in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the TuneIn Radio and Lions Gameday Experience apps. Friday's volleyball match will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
 
Inside Southeastern Basketball with David Kiefer, sponsored by North Oaks Health System and Rainbow Daiquiris, airs Monday night at 7 p.m. Hosted by Allen Waddell, the show will air on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM) every Monday through March 1.

Weekly Promotions
Jaylen Huderson (Wednesday) and Alexius Horne (Saturday) will be this week's Spotlight Players of the Game for the two Lady Lion games. The first 150 fans will receive a trading card featuring that game's Spotlight Player of the Game courtesy of PRIDE.
