COVINGTON, La. – Southeastern Louisiana's startup beach volleyball program dropped a pair of duals Friday, 5-0 to Texas A&M-Kingsville and 5-0 to Southern Miss, in the New Orleans Invitational at Digs Volleyball Complex.
 
The Beach Lions (0-2) were close to taking a set off of Texas A&M-Kingsville in the program's first dual. Southeastern's top flight of Meagan Scuderi and Karlee Wilkerson fell 21-13, 22-20. Ariana Hebert and Sam Gomez fell 21-19, 21-9 at No. 2, while Jolie Hidalgo and Butler transfer Serena Wagner lost 21-19, 21-16 at No. 3.
 
In the second dual, Hidalgo and Wagner claimed the first set in program history as they dropped the No. 3 flight, 21-13, 12-21, 15-9. Hebert and Gomez fell 21-17, 21-12 at No. 2, while Scuderi and Wilkerson came up short, 21-15, 21-14 in the top flight.  
 
Southeastern finishes out its action in the New Orleans Invitational with a 10 a.m. match Saturday against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Admission is free.
