SLU Closes Road Schedule With Loss at No. 6 LSU

Livaudais collects two hits in loss to Tigers

BATON ROUGE – Southeastern Louisiana was limited to two hits in an 11-0 loss to No. 6 LSU in non-conference softball action Wednesday night at Tiger Park.

SLU closed out its regular season road schedule on Wednesday, falling to 20-26 overall. The Tigers improved to 43-8 on the year with the victory.

Junior outfielder Amanda Livaudais led the Lady Lions with two hits, while senior second baseman Vanessa Eng and junior designated player Amber Sather each drew a walk. SLU junior Taylor Bishop (13-7) took the loss, striking out three in the process.

After Bishop struck out two in a scoreless first inning, LSU junior catcher Kellsi Kloss gave the Tigers a lead with a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning.

LSU broke the game open in the bottom of the third inning. A two-run double by junior shortstop Bianka Bell and a two-run triple by junior first baseman Sandra Simmons highlighted a five-run inning.

Three of LSU's five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning were unearned. The Tigers took advantage of three SLU errors to provide the final 11-0 margin.

SLU will close out the regular season this weekend, hosting Northwestern State for a three-game Southland Conference series. The series opens with a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Friday, followed by a 12 p.m. contest on Saturday. Live stats and live video (LionVision subscription required) will be accessible at LionSports.net. Prior to Saturday's game, Eng, Megan Moore, Spencer Adkinson, Teresa Lemos and Tori Stamper will be honored for Senior Day.
