SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana men's tennis team dropped its second straight match on Saturday, falling 4-3 to Southland Conference foe UTSA at the UTSA Tennis Center.
Southeastern (6-6, 0-2 SLC) won three matches in singles play and one match in doubles play on Saturday. UTSA improved to 6-9 overall and 3-1 in league action.
In doubles play, Lion sophomores
Benjamin Enke and
Stepan Siska improved their doubles mark to 3-2. At No. 1, Enke and Siska defeated UTSA's Rodrigo Morgado and Andre Moreira, 8-4. However, the Roadrunners earned victories at the other two doubles positions to earn the doubles point.
Southeastern's three singles victories came at the bottom three positions. At No. 4, senior
Guillaume Capovin improved his team-best singles mark to 9-3 with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Daniel Moreiras.
At No. 5, Lion sophomore
Jan Bezdecka (5-5) won his third straight singles match, 6-4, 7-5, over Jorge Delgado. Southeastern sophomore
Alexis Biarneix evened his spring singles record at 2-2 with a comeback 1-6, 6-1, 6-1 victory over Max Stratmann at No. 6. UTSA won the other three singles matches in straight sets.
Southeastern will be back in action on Sunday, facing DePaul at 12 p.m. in a neutral site match at the UTSA Tennis Center.
