HAMMOND - Southeastern Louisiana senior midfielder Lindsey Dyck and junior forward
Janae Sheldon were honorable mention selections on the 2007 National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-South Region Scholar Team, which was released by the NSCAA on Wednesday.
The honors mark the second straight year Southeastern has placed two players on the All-South Region Scholar Team. In 2006, former Lady Lions Kari Yost and Lindsay Garito were selected.
Dyck, a biology major with a 3.36 grade point average, is no stranger to academic honors, having been named to the SLC All-Academic Team each of the past three seasons. The Prince George, B.C. started all 20 matches for the Lady Lions and was the team\'s most consistent ball winner. An honorable mention All-SLC selection, Dyck finished the season with one goal and three assists.
Sheldon, a marketing major with a 3.60 GPA, has also been honored by the SLC for her classwork, earning SLC All-Academic honors in each of the last two seasons. Sheldon, a Yorba Linda, Calif. product, started 18 matches at forward for the Lady Lions, finishing the season with two goals and three assists.
