WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Southeastern Louisiana women\'s basketball team will be back in action on Saturday, facing Central Florida at Warden Arena on the campus of Rollins College at 6 p.m.

Southeastern (4-4) is coming off a 94-49 rout of William Carey on Tuesday. The Lady Lions hit 55.3 percent (32-for-60) of their field goal attempts, including 55.6 percent (10-for-18) from behind the arc. The Lady Lions owned the boards, out-rebounding the Lady Saders (2-3), 51-27, improving to 4-0 this season when they win the rebounding battle. After struggling from the free-throw line in its previous outing, Southeastern hit 80 percent (20-for-25) from the line.
Southeastern junior forward Adonna Weaver posted her first career double-double, scoring 10 points on 5-for-5 field goal shooting and grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds in only 14 minutes. Southeastern junior forward Kristy Carlin and junior guard Charinee Mitchell led the Lady Lions with 14 points each, while senior guard Brooke Necaise, sophomore center Zevy Ivory and freshman forward Shameka Russell each added 11 points.
Weaver led the Lady Lions in rebounding, followed by Carlin, Russell and senior guard Jameica Gross, each who grabbed seven rebounds. Carlin, Ivory and junior guard Veronica Hendrix each dished out a team-high three assists, while Carlin and Mitchell paced the squad with three steals.
Carlin leads the Lady Lions with 13.6 points per game and is one of three Southeastern players with double figure scoring averages, along with Necaise (11.9 ppg) and Ivory (10.0 ppg). Gross (6.8 ppg) and junior guard Bethany Sinclair (5.9 ppg) round out the top scorers for Southeastern.
Gross leads the team with 7.1 rebounds per contest, followed closely by Carlin (6.7 rpg) and Ivory (6.4 rpg). All three rank among the top 15 rebounders in the Southland Conference. Mitchell leads the team with 3.5 assists and 1.6 steals per outing.
Following Tuesday\'s impressive shooting performance, the Lady Lions are back on top of the SLC with a 42.0 field-goal percentage, led by Ivory\'s league-best 59.6 success rate. Southeastern also is tied for the league lead with a 34.2 three point field goal percentage, as Necaise - the school\'s career three-point field goal leader - leads the SLC with 2.4 treys per contest.
Southeastern, which has nine newcomers on the 2007-08 roster, will be facing one of the few teams that are actually younger than the Lady Lions in Central Florida (4-5). The Lady Knights\' 2007-08 active roster features 10 freshmen, one junior and one senior.
UCF dropped an 81-75 decision to Florida Gulf Coast in their last game. In the loss, freshman forward Tia Lewis posted her sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while freshman guard D\'Nay Daniels chipped in 13 points.
Lewis leads the team with 14.1 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest. Freshman forward Emma Cannon is second on the team in both categories, averaging 11.4 points and 8.9 boards per game. Daniels gives UCF three players with double-digit scoring averages, as she has scored at a 10.1 point per game clip thus far this season. Freshman point guard Angelica Mealing leads the team with 2.9 assists per game.
Southeastern is looking for its second road win of the season over a Conference USA school, having defeated Memphis, 75-72, back on Nov. 16. The Lady Lions are 8-7 all-time versus Central Florida. Last season, Southeastern defeated UCF, 67-49, in the home opener. Carlin paced the Southeastern victory with 16 points, while then-senior center Jazmin Cain grabbed 11 rebounds.
Following Saturday\'s game, Southeastern will travel to Stetson to face the Lady Hatters at 6 p.m. in DeLand, Fla.
