HAMMOND - Southeastern Louisiana football fans who don't currently own a green article of clothing need only to arrive at Strawberry Stadium early Saturday to be a part of the "Green with Envy" promotion.
The first 3,000 fans to arrive will receive a green Southeastern t-shirt courtesy of the Southeastern Student Government Association, Capstone Housing, the Southeastern Claws Committee, the Campus Activities Board and Coca-Cola. The SGA will also distribute 1,000 thunderstix to the Southeastern student section.
"With this promotion we're attempting to "green out" Strawberry Stadium," remarked Roy Brown, assistant athletics director for marketing. "Having everyone in green will provide a great show of support to the team and
The game is also Breast Cancer Awareness night and 5,000 pink ribbon fans will be handed out as a reminder that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
At halftime of the game, four former student-athletes will be inducted into the prestigious Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame. Voncia Bookman (softball), Alan Klein (football), Gino Marino (football, distinguished service) and Ken Kenelly (football, distinguished service) comprise the 2005 inductee class.
