Empowering Student-Athletes for Life Beyond the Game

At Southeastern, we believe that true champions are built both on the field and in the classroom. The Dick & Glory Sharp Academic Center is dedicated to providing the resources, mentorship, and structure necessary for our student-athletes to navigate the rigors of collegiate academics while competing at the highest level.

This threefold mission guides every program we implement. We don’t just aim for eligibility; we strive for intellectual growth, civic engagement, and a culture of winning in every facet of the student-athlete experience.
 

Our Staff

Success is a collaborative effort. Our department is powered by professionals who serve as the bridge between the athletic department and the university’s academic community. Our team includes:
  • Academic Advisors: Providing personalized course mapping and degree planning as well as helping students balance time management, wellness, and career preparation.
  • Graduate Assistants: Providing a consistent check-in point to report academic progress. Graduate Assistants teach students how to categorize their workload and deconstruct assignments into actionable tasks. 
By maintaining a focused staff-to-athlete ratio, we ensure that every individual receives the one-on-one attention they need to thrive.
 

Celebrating Our Success

We take immense pride in the hardware brought home to our trophy cases, but we are equally proud of the accolades earned in the lecture hall. Visit our Academic Honors section to see our latest achievements, including:
  • The Dean’s List: Recognizing our highest-achieving scholars each semester.
  • All-Conference Academic Teams: Celebrating those who lead in both stats and GPA.
  • Graduation Success Rates (GSR): Highlighting our commitment to the ultimate goal—the degree.
  • Chi Alpha Sigma: Our chapter of The National College Athlete Honor Society which is a student-athlete honor society that recognizes high academic achievers and sport participants at the collegiate level.
 

Our Facilities & Resources

Our facilities, located in West Strawberry Stadium, provide a home base for academic focus. Whether it’s monitored study halls, freshmen success classes, or workshops on resume building, our doors are always open to support the next generation of leaders.
