Newbold enters his second season as an assistant coach for Southeastern Louisiana University.
During his first season, he led sprinter Dontrell Lyons to Southland Conference indoor championship in the 400 meters. He also led sprinter Sharrona Williams to a bronze medal in the 60 meters and silver medal in the 100 meters at the Southland Conference Championships.
Newbold’s training group broke a total of six school records during his first season.
Newbold is from Nassau, Bahamas. Prior to Southeastern, he coached at Colby Community College where he help lead the team to a NJCAA national indoor runner-up, five KJCAA Region VI titles and nine KJCAA West Conference titles in track and field and cross country.
