Southeastern Louisiana University Athletics

The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team won the Colin Montgomerie Invitational while SLU's Michael Landry claimed the individual championship. The Lions blew away the field as they shot +4 for the tournament, 13 shots ahead of second place Gonzaga (+17), as all five players for Southeastern placed in the top 25. Landry, a sophomore, was terrific as he shot -6 (210) for the tournament turning in a 70 (-2) in all three rounds. In the final round, he finished with four birdies and two bogeys to earn the individual title by three shots over Gonzaga's Charlie Magruder (-3). Landry totaled 13 birdies and just seven bogeys for the 54-hole tournament on his way to the championship in just his second tournament with SLU.
