Hayes was dominant in the circle, pitching SLU to a pair of Southland Conference victories over Houston Baptist. In Friday’s 8-2 win in the series opener, she did not allow an earned run and combined with freshman reliever Shelby Sitzman to hold the Huskies to three hits. On Saturday, she was even better, facing one over the minimum in a complete-game one-hit shutout performance in SLU’s 2-0 series-clinching victory. Hayes is 7-1 with a save in her last 10 games.
