Veal averaged 13.5 points, 7.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds in helping the Lions clinch a share of the Southland regular season title and the top seed in the league tournament. He had 13 points, six assists, four rebounds and a steal in a 68-64 win at New Orleans on Wednesday. He followed that up with 14 points, eight assists, six rebounds and one steal in a 69-57 win over Nicholls. He commited just two turnovers against a Colonels defense that ranked fourth nationally in turnovers forced. He also became the Lions’ single-season assist leader with 190 assists.
