Veal had a memorable week in helping lead the Lions to a pair of road victories. He averaged 18.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 8.5 assists in the two games, shooting 45.8 percent from the field, 60 percent on 3s and 1.000 from the line. He recorded the third double-double of the season with a career-high 12 assists and 17 points in a win at UIW while becoming the 18th Lion to eclipse the career 1,000-point mark. He also had seven rebounds, 2 steals and a block. He just missed another double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds in a win at McNeese, pulling down two key offensive rebounds and hitting four free throws in the final minute. He finished 7-for-7 from the line while adding five assists, two steals and a block. He also held McNeese guard Kalob Ledoux to nine points, 6.5 below his average. Along the way, he became just the third Lion with 400 career assists and moved into second place on the school single-season assist list.
