Veal helped key the Lions’ rally from 16 down in a 63-58 victory at Lamar Wednesday. His floater in the lane gave the Lions the lead for good with 4:21 left and he added a key three-point play in the final two minutes. He finished with team highs of 15 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals as the Lions won their fourth straight to open conference play for the first time in the Southland. He tied for the team lead with seven rebounds while recording nine points, three assists and three steals in a 71-62 loss to McNeese on Saturday.
