Johnson rushed for a career-high 176 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Lions to a 49-21 victory over Lamar on Saturday. His 42-yard touchdown at the end of the first half sent SLU into halftime with a 35-14 lead. He was also a key contributor on special teams, forcing a fumble on a kickoff return that set up another Lion score. Johnson’s performance helped SLU finish with 366 rushing yards - the fourth-highest single-game output on the ground by the Lions since the program returned in 2003.
