Davis threw 53-7 in taking third in the shot put at the Ole Miss Classic on Saturday, breaking the school record of 51-7.75 she set at the Texas Relays earlier this season. She also increased her lead in the conference by more than six feet and moved into 17th place in the East region and 32nd nationally. She finished behind just Jeneva Stevens of the NYAC and Ole Miss’ Janeah Stewart, the fifth-ranked shot-putter in the country.
