Young won the wight throw at the KMS Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama with a record-breaking showing on Sunday. Young threw 74 feet, 1 inch (22.58 meters) on his final attempt,breaking the mark of 73-03.13 by former Lion All-American Adonson Shallow in 2010. The throw is also the second-best weight throw in the nation in 2016 behind Purdue’s Chukwuebuka Enekwechi’s 78-0.75. It was Young’s second win in the weight throw this season.
