Bennett was the engineer of a Lion offense that racked up 566 total yards versus the Southland Conference’s top-ranked defense in a 56-34 win over Lamar. The junior threw for 237 yards and touchdowns to Jeff Smiley and Marquis Fruge’ on 15 of 21 passing in the victory. He also led a Southeastern rushing attack that posted 310 yards on the ground, finishing with 95 yards on 11 carries.
