Shallow capped an outstanding career on Saturday, earning All-America honors with a third-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Shallow, a native of Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, posted a throw of 69 feet, 6.25 inches (21.19 meters). Only LSU senior Walter Henning (72-8.5 feet) and Virginia Tech sophomore Alexander Ziegler (69-9.5 feet) bested Shallow’s mark. After fouling on his first two throws, Shallow scored on his third throw. The third-place finish was the best for an individual Southeastern male student-athlete at the national meet since the Lions made the transition to Division I.
